The Nockberge Trail has caught your attention as a dream ski touring traverse – but you’re still a ski touring novice and not quite ready for a four-day crossing?
You’d love to make the transition from ski touring on marked slopes to exploring open terrain – or maybe you just want to try ski touring for the first time and learn the key basics along the way?
Then the “Every Beginning is Easy” package is just right for you!
On the first day, you’ll learn the essentials – such as uphill technique including kick turns, avalanche awareness, and how to use avalanche safety equipment (with a full beacon search exercise). This prepares you perfectly for your first ski tour in open terrain on day two, where you’ll also learn additional skills like how to lay a good ascent track and how to behave during descents.
The two snow-sure base locations – Innerkrems and Falkertsee – are simply ideal for this kind of experience:
You’ll find plenty of moderate ski tours with manageable ascents (max. 800 vertical meters) and accessible open terrain – just perfect for learning how to ski tour safely and enjoyably. And after these exciting days, the high-quality accommodation provides the perfect setting to relax and recharge.

My First Ski Tour in Innerkrems
Innerkrems is one of the two regions in the Nockberge mountains that have established themselves as ski touring centers, especially for beginners and leisure ski tourers. With a high-altitude starting point between 1,600 and 1,700 meters above sea level, numerous easy to moderately difficult short ski tours, and even a permanent avalanche training field, the area offers ideal conditions for “My First Ski Tour in Open Terrain.” And in the evenings, cozy hotels provide the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind.

My first Ski tour at Falkertsee
The Falkertsee location is the second ski touring center in the Nockberge. Similar to Innerkrems, Falkertsee is very snow-safe due to its altitude of over 1,800 meters above sea level, and the local hotel is very comfortable. There is even a ski touring educational trail that invites you to learn a lot about ski touring. And if weather conditions require it, a small ski area on site further expands the available options.
